At Shriners Hospitals for Children—Cincinnati, the health and safety of our patients, families, volunteers and staff is our top priority. With the rapidly evolving situation regarding coronavirus (COVID-19,) we are closely monitoring local health departments and The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC,) and are actively following their recommendations.

We are working diligently to reschedule appointments postponed during the quarantine. We also understand you may feel some anxiety about bringing your child into the hospital. Our plans to restart routine care have been thoughtfully developed and implemented to keep everyone safe. We are also scheduling some appointments for new patients. Families that have appointments of any kind are asked to arrive with ONLY ONE parent or guardian and no additional family members or guests.

When you arrive for your appointment, if you and your child are not already wearing a mask, you will receive one. You will both be screened for illness and will notice new safety precautions in place to promote clean hands, a clean environment, and social distancing.

Santa made a special stop at Shriners Hospitals for Children – Cincinnati

(CINCINNATI; December 24, 2015) – Santa made an early visit to Shriners Hospitals for Children – Cincinnati that brought joy and smiles to patients and their families on Christmas Eve.

Santa surprised patients and families alike when he suddenly appeared during a special Christmas Eve lunch at the hospital. All of the children (including patients and their siblings) received gifts, including toys and games. Families also received special gift bags.

Cincinnati names new Chief of Plastic Surgery

(CINCINNATI; December 4, 2015) – Shriners Hospital for Children – Cincinnati announces the appointment of David A. Billmire, MD, FACS, FAAP as the new Chief of Plastic Surgery.

Dr. Billmire has practiced plastic surgery in Cincinnati area since 1983.  He has worked with Shriners Hospitals for Children – Cincinnati for 31 years. “I hope to help the hospital continue to prosper which means we are helping more kids,” said Dr. Billmire. “We are the best burn reconstructive plastic surgery center in the country.”
